I just had to share these hilariously funny animal photobombs from the Huffington Post.
Hi mom, from your weird kid
My mom is visiting this weekend, and seeing as I’m one of those lucky people who have a really cool mom, I’m off to spend some time with her, my step dad, and my brother in Boston. Truly, my mom is the best–creative, smart, strong, beautiful–and I love her dearly (even though she made me wait forever until I could pluck my eyebrows or wear makeup). Here’s a big “hi” to you, mom. Love, the weirdest of your two middle kids and the shortest person in the entire family–Karin.
Valentine’s Day kitty toys!
Look at these adorable Valentine cat toys I just bought from moderncat. Don’t they just make you want to jump up and down for joy?! I might even share them with my cat.
Facebook loser seeking friends
I just made a Facebook artist page and am feeling like a big Loser because I only have one like. One. single. like. Might someone else find it in their heart to like me too please (please)? Especially if you’re one of my family members–I know you’re out there. You really should like me. At least on Facebook.
P.S. My brother just asked me how to go about liking my Facebook page. If you go to the menu on the right and scroll down a little, you’ll see the Facebook Like button. Well, that’s one family member that likes me, but I have a really big family.
Is your cat plotting to kill you?
There is a 93% percent chance that my cat is plotting to kill me according to this survey over at Mingle2. And I believe it, because a few weeks ago, my cat got way over stimulated (or at least that was HIS story) and leaped on top of my head. Are you in danger too? Take the survey and find out.

From the desk of a bad ass brunette
I’m really jazzed about these new notepads I just ordered. The image is of my bad ass brunette illustration, which I currently carry in my Etsy shop as a magnet. This will be the first notepad I’ll be offering. I plan to post it by Monday. UPDATE–It’s posted!
You’re good for me, valentine
Big THANK YOU (yes I’m shouting) to that sweet gal (with impeccable taste) Mallory over at Wherethelovelythingsare.com. She was kind enough to feature one of my cards (among many other beauties) in her recent Valentine’s Day post.
Funny Valentine card, dude
So I don’t usually draw guy cartoons, but a male friend of mine suggested I make a Valentine’s Day card for a man (or from a man, I guess). Here he is below. It’s still early in the game to know whether this will be a hit for Valentine’s Day (especially as guys tend to buy stuff at the last minute), but he’s getting a little love over at Etsy–that is, he’s been favorited a few times.
BTW, the inside of the card reads “and you’d be fine.”
I’ve sold a couple of my Descartes, “I love you; therefore I am,” Valentine cards. My Socrates magnet does pretty well too. Looks like famous philosophers in cat eye glasses sell, but do regular guys with goatees?
Pinterest personality
Like many people, I’ve become a pinterest freak. My boards began as a jumble, but are starting to look a little cleaner as my tastes and personality come through. What do I like? Abstract art. Porcelain. Breezy blues and greens. Mechanical valentines. Mary Jane shoes. Sometimes I wonder why we’re almost obsessively drawn to certain things. Like Peter Pan collars. I can’t get enough of them.
